The CBC’s Anna Maria Tremonti will be moderating a virtual panel discussion on Healing the Gender Gap – a free Zoom event the night before Fall Council – to talk about gender issues in medicine, including the gender pay gap. An outstanding lineup of panellists has been confirmed, including Dr. Tara Kiran, Dr. Michelle Cohen, Dr. Gianni Lorello and Dr. Sharon Straus. Open to all OMA members, this event is co-sponsored by OMA Women and the OMA Section on General and Family Practice. This event will take place from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, November 27, and will also feature musical entertainment.

Green is Health MIG is pleased to host NYGH specialists Drs. Joyce Lee and Jeremy Theal on Thursday, November 19 at 8 p.m. for a Zoom event on climate change. Dr. Lee and Dr. Theal trained under Nobel Laureate Al Gore in March 2018 to become Climate Reality Leaders and now give educational presentations about climate change to health care providers, business leaders and community groups. Their goal is to share the scientific certainty, the immediacy, and the impacts of the climate crisis, while inspiring people to act on this important issue.
