Last week, you received an email asking you toparticipate in a brief survey about your fellowship training. If you have already completed it, I would like to extend my gratitude to you for providing us with this information. If you have not yet taken the survey, this is a reminder to please participate. The survey should take less than five minutes for you to complete.
Your participation will help us to better understand the entirety of Ontario physician post-graduate education which will inform the development of the Fee-Adjusted Income Relativity (FAIR) model. The Relativity Advisory Committee (RAC) is committed to compiling the strongest possible data to inform its recommendations, and this work is endorsed by the OMA Board of Directors.
To date, RAC has collected data from the Canadian Post-MD Education Registry (CAPER) on the length of postgraduate education, including fellowship training. However, CAPER only collects data on fellowship training completed inside of Canada and does not collect data on fellowship training completed outside of Canada; nor is there any available data from any other source on this topic. However, there is a recognition that this type of training may be an integral part of the overall postgraduate education for some sections, which is why this survey is being issued.
Please note that you will need to fully complete the survey in one sitting. (Honoraria will not be paid for your participation.)
Dr. K. Sonu Gaind
Chair, OMA Relativity Advisory Committee
